Google Buys DocVerse for $25 Million
DocVerse is a website that allows real-time sharing of Microsoft Office Documents such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and many more. In fact, it works almost the same like Google Docs. DocVerse also allows people to make instant changes to any of their documents instantaneously without having them emailing each other so that they can see what the changes may be.
Google has been interested in DocVerse for quite some time and on March 5, they decided to acquire DocVerse for a whopping $25 million.
Founded by ex-Microsoft veterans, Shan Sinha and Alex DeNeui, DocVerse was created more than three years ago. The purpose of the site is to allow people to share documents with each other and simplify the work of modifying these documents as well.
The acquisition of DocVerse is probably Google’s first step onto upgrading its Google Docs. Previously, there were little support for Microsoft Office documents but with the acquisition, customers should probably see a lot more features available in Google Docs.
