Best SLRs – January 2010
Nowadays, SLRs are used by both the consumers and the professionals. Some uses them as a habit while others may make a living out of it. Getting a good camera may be hard and once a person has bought a camera of a certain brand, they might find it hard to change to another brand due to the incompatibility of the lens with different brands. Here are some SLRs worth noting:
Budget/Entry-Level SLR
Nikon D5000 – This 12.3 Megapixel camera is well known for delivering high quality photographs. In addition to that, its detachable LCD allows the picture taking of even the most gruesome of shot easily. There are two version of the D5000 and this is the Body Only Kit and a Kit with lens (18 – 55mm)
Canon Rebel T1i – The T1i also known as the Canon 500D in some parts of the world is a great entry level SLR. It is also quite light in nature and it sports a whopping 15.1 Megapixel resolution which may be one of the highest available in the Entry-level SLR industry.
Midrange SLR
Nikon D90 – The D90 is truly a favorite amongst many Nikon owners. It offers quality photograph at a great price. In addition to that, it also offers a HDMI output and has a video capturing capability.
Canon 40D – The 40D is a considerable alternative to the 50D although it may cost as much as $200 higher than the latter. However, its picture quality is absolutely stunning and is great for capturing fast paced photographs
High-end SLR
Nikon D3 – This full-frame camera has only a 12 megapixel sensor but it beats most cameras of a higher resolution. It offers everything that a professional would want at a premium cost as well
Canon 1Ds Mark III – There wouldn’t be a photographer not knowing about the Canon 1D series. The Canon 1Ds Mark III is truly a perfectionist camera with a full-frame sensor. It is the best that the world has to offer and it doesn’t come in cheap as well.
Canon and Nikon are currently one of the top manufacturers in the market with a lot of lens available for the users to use as well. However, there are many other manufacturers worth considering although the user might have a problem getting some lenses that they may require.
