Dos and Don’ts in a Job Interview

Job interview can be quite scary in nature. The person getting interviewed might be nervous and thoughtful of the questions that may occur during the interview. There are ways of handling an interview and if done well, it can be very profitable to that person as well.

Here are some dos and don’ts when it comes to a job interview.

DO come to the interview place at least 15 minutes early. This gives an impression that the person is punctual. Not only that, it also allows the interviewee not to rush and he or she will be able to know a bit more or less about the company as well during the 15 minutes period. Be sure to know where the interview place is so that there will be no delay of actually getting there.

DO wear appropriately for an interview. In some countries, wearing a coat and a tie might be appropriate but for others, a simple long sleeved shirt and a tie would suffice. Be sure to ask the much more experienced people for advice on what to wear. Trim the nails properly and dress neatly. This will definitely give a good impression to the interviewer.

DON’T ask about the salaries or any other incentives during the interview. It is best to delay them until an offer has been made by the company. Try to delay this question even when it is posed.

DON’T answer any questions with a one word answer such as a Yes or a No. In fact, try to elaborate more about the questions and try giving answers that would actually focus on the strength of the person being interviewed whenever it is possible.
