How you answer in an interview, why did you leave your last job?
The question as to why someone has left their last job is always something that will be asked in an interview. This is also one of the components that can trip a person up. The potential future employer is looking for how loyal the applicant is. This question should be answered in a diplomatic way if possible.
While there are various answers that could be used, one of the best replies concerns personal growth. It will make an impression on the interviewer when it is explained that the applicant wants to grow and expand their job responsibilities; how they would like to learn from that company; and that they are looking for a better opportunity. It is not necessary to make the other place of employment seem simplistic, but personal development and the desire for challenge are characteristics that employers are looking for. Applicants should emphasize the importance of learning through higher levels of responsibility. Successful applicants many times are those who can present their willingness to learn and the drive that they have to do so. Explaining that the previous place of employment, while being a great place to work, did not offer the right amount of learning opportunities that were needed or desired, is the decent route to presenting this aspect.
